Useful answers before you enquire
Frequently Asked Questions
Planning a mountain wedding or proposal comes with unusual questions. Here are clear answers about photography, weather, timing, travel and what happens after the day.
The short version
Your plans do not need to fit a standard package or timeline. The best starting point is the date, location and the kind of experience you want. We can work through photography and mountain logistics from there.
Booking & Availability
How far ahead should we enquire?
Do you photograph weddings outside Chamonix?
Yes. Chamonix is home and a spectacular backdrop, but I regularly travel across France, Switzerland, Italy, and beyond to capture stories in beautiful destinations.
How do we reserve a date?
Once we have discussed the plans and agreed on the perfect package for your day, a signed contract and a retainer fee will secure your date on my calendar.
Photography & The Wedding Day
What is your photography style?
Natural, documentary and people-focused. I blend into your day like a guest with a camera, capturing authentic emotions, and unscripted memories.
We feel awkward in photographs, Is that a problem?
Not at all. Most couples say the same! My approach is relaxed and casual. I guide you gently without stiff posing, keeping the focus on your real connection and having fun.
Do you take group photographs?
Yes, of course. Think carefully about how many you really need though, are these the photos that you’re going to look back on and say that was such an amazing day or is the time better spent having fun, and getting more casual shots of everyone.
How much time do we need for couple portraits?
Usually much less than people expect, around 30 minutes is perfect. This ensures you get beautiful artistic portraits while leaving plenty of time for celebrating with your guests.
Can you work alongside a filmmaker?
What will you be wearing?
You won’t find me wearing a stiff suit or spending the day trying to blend in with your guests. I’ve spent most of my life avoiding jobs that make me wear a shirt, and I’m planning on continuing that theme.
If your celebration has a particularly high end dress code though, just let me know. I’m always happy to discuss it with you.
Mountain Weddings & Weather
What happens if the weather changes?
I prepare realistic alternatives in advance. From choosing backup sheltered spots to adjusting our schedule slightly, we ensure beautiful photos regardless of the alpine weather.
Do all guests need to travel to the mountain portrait location?
Can you help with timings and locations?
Yes. I can advise on photography timelines and scout key locations. Mountain light changes rapidly, so planning around the best spots is essential for the great results.
Proposals & Engagement Sessions
How do you keep a proposal secret?
Can we have photographs after the proposal?
What should we wear for an engagement session?
Choose clothes that suit the setting, earthy tones, layers, and sensible footwear are perfect for mountain terrain. Most importantly, wear something you feel confident and comfortable in.
